Had Enough?

Boy, there's a lot of advice and self help out there...yet I can remember when it was literally anathema to share any such thing.  You might get labelled "crazy", right?

I, for one, love the abundance and easy availability of it all now. [Shoot, I contribute to it!]

But that doesn't make it easier to choose what works, does it?  Enough with it, already!

                     -----------------------------------

Now I know; my blog title implies dump the self help.  That's not really my message.  This isn't about finding what works. [sorry]   Frankly, I don't believe there is a one size fits all solution for ANYthing, and that's a whole 'nuther story...

This is about persistence.  Going the distance.  Giving your choice a chance to do its thing.  If you're like me, I'll try something for a few days, then when it doesn't overcome the years I spent in dysfunction, I declare it a failure.

"This diet doesn't work!  Meditation doesn't help!  I'm still smoking!  etc., etc."

Aaah..humanity.

Just read a quote by Jim Rohn--"Motivation gets you started.  Habits keep you going."

Sure, you can't hit a target you don't have, but you'll never hit the target without the practice, either.  That's where a habit can come in to save the day.  [and where it can also wreck the day, if it doesn't serve your change.]

A big tenet of my coaching is it takes consistent persistence to hit the target.

Get your new habits on.  Give them a chance to take hold.

Here's hoping you get a bullseye.
